Lucas Moura has shared his honest view on Tottenham’s season, and the former Spurs man has revealed why he believes the Lilywhites can still lift the Europa League come May.
Tottenham Hotspur are enduring a horrid 2024/25 Premier League campaign, with the Lilywhites sitting in the bottom five of the Premier League table.
Spurs have suffered 19 defeats in their 35 League games this season – the joint most in their history in the recent Premier League era.
However, despite their poor domestic form, the Lilywhites still have a chance to end their long trophy drought, as they are still in the semi-final of the Europa League.
Lucas Moura backs Tottenham for Europa League glory
Lucas Moura has been speaking on the official Tottenham Hotspur website, and when asked about Spurs’ campaign this season, the Brazilian gave an honest assessment.
He was quick to acknowledge Tottenham’s struggles in the League, but he remains optimistic that the north London club can finish the season on a high, winning the Europa League.
He said: “I will always support Spurs, it does not matter where I am, they are in my heart. Sometimes it is difficult to watch all the games because of the time zones but I always follow them.

“This season, I know that in the Premier League they are not in such a good moment, but the Europa League is different.
“I am sure they can qualify for the final and then win the final and lift the trophy. I am rooting for them; they are capable if they play like they have done in some games this season. I am sure they can win this competition. Come on you Spurs!”
Moura’s belief and Tottenham’s path to the final
Of course, Lucas Moura knows a thing or two about making it to a European final, after the Brazilian helped Spurs overcome a three-goal deficit against Ajax in Amsterdam.
While Tottenham could not get the job done in Madrid against Liverpool, Tottenham fans would be hoping for a different outcome should Spurs make it to another European final – their second in six years.
