Tottenham Hotspur loanee centre-back Luka Vuskovic has now reached another career milestone, this time on the international stage.

The sky looks like the limit for Tottenham Hotspur’s on-loan star Luka Vuskovic, who continues to impress with his performances.

The young Croat managed seven goals last season for Westerlo, making a name for himself as a goalscoring centre-back.

This season, that trait has remained, with Vuskovic managing five goals for Hamburg already in the Bundesliga, after having scored for Spurs once in pre-season.

The centre-back has now reached another career milestone, this time with his country in their game against Colombia in a friendly match.

Croatia beat the South American outfit 2-1, and Vuskovic was on target, drawing his side level in the sixth minute after a Jhon Arias strike in the second minute.

The strike was a deflected effort from outside the box that flew into the net, before Igor Matanovic scored a second to seal the victory for Zlatko Dalic’s side.

Reacting to the moment and reflecting on his first international goal after only three appearances, Vuskovic shared his pride via social media, on Instagram, saying: “I am very proud to have scored my first goal for the national team and contributed to an important victory.”

Luka Vuskovic’s performance highlights Spurs’ potential

The young centre-back can be proud of the milestone he has reached, but he must not get overly carried away, which was the message from his manager.

Speaking about the defender’s display, Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic highlighted both his quality and areas for improvement, stating: “He played well and with quality, which is why we played that system with three at the back.

“He maybe needs to be a bit more decisive and responsible, but he is growing. He will certainly have a great career.

“In the last 15 minutes, we switched to four at the back, which he can play. He played well, like everyone else, I would not single anyone out. Many good things.”

Regardless, it was a complete display from the young centre-back, who managed three touches of the ball, a 96% pass success rate and 13 defensive contributions, including nine clearances, two blocks and two interceptions. He made three ball recoveries and was not dribbled past once.
