Tottenham Hotspur have just found out they will have to part ways with a huge sum in order to sign James McAtee from Manchester City this summer.
Following Morgan Gibbs-White’s sudden change of heart, the big question on Tottenham fans’ minds is which alternative will the Lilywhites now turn to.
It was reported by TBR Football a couple of days ago that Spurs could make a move for Man City starlet James McAtee, who the North Londoners have already spoken to this summer.
The outlet alleged that Thomas Frank’s men could land the youngster for a cut-price fee of just around £20m, but it is now clear that the England Under-21 international will be a lot more expensive.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has now taken to social media to reveal that Nottingham Forest have just had an offer of £25m for McAtee sent back by City.
Jacobs states that Pep Guardiola wants to keep the young attacking midfielder at the Etihad, and the player will only be allowed to leave if a big offer arrives.
The Manchester club are looking for a fee close to the £42.5m package they received from Chelsea for Cole Palmer two years ago.

There have also been reports over the last few days suggesting that Tottenham remain fans of Harvey Elliott, whose future at Anfield is thought to be in doubt following the arrival of Florian Wirtz.
