City are bossing this at the minute.

That connection with Woltemade still needs some working on.

Semenyo fires in a low cross that provokes a collective gasp inside the Etihad. No one in sky blue to meet it, though.

It's a noisy atmosphere inside the Etihad. They can sense something is coming.

Sky Sports' Laura Hunter at Etihad Stadium:

"Bernardo and Rodri are running the show already. Newcastle are panicked. This is as loud as I've heard the Etihad for a little while, such is the rising anticipation. City can sense the opportunity."

This time they go short, giving Newcastle a bit of a let-off for now.

He does well to put it behind and Newcastle manage to deal with the subsequent corner.

Man City have made a lively start.

A final reminder of the standings at the top before we play...

Pretty clear what the assignment is for Man City tonight, while Newcastle can climb as high as eighth with victory.

Kick off comes next.

Live Premier League table

Sky Sports' Laura Hunter at Etihad Stadium:

"Man City are the only team in the Premier League on a winning run spanning more than one game - and there's is only two. The competition for points this season is as close as it's been for years. Another three are vital for Pep Guardiola tonight. Perhaps then he might start to indulge some title talk..."

Newcastle are looking to complete their first top-flight league double over Manchester City since 1955-56.

However, their 20 games at the Etihad Stadium is the most a team has played at a venue without ever winning in Premier League history (D2 L18).

Sky Sports' Laura Hunter at Etihad Stadium:

"Another Premier League matchweek, another chance for Man City to crank up the pressure by playing first. Anyone else sense the deja vu? Momentum feels like it's draining from Arsenal's bid, while City become more bullish by the week.

"This weekend will surely prove pivotal in the race. If Man City beat Newcastle they move to within two points of Arsenal, who have to negotiate the north London derby - with all its emotion - knowing they must chase victory. It will be the closest any side has got to the Gunners since September.

"High stakes, just how we like it."

Sky Sports' Lewis Jones:

Nick Woltemade playing central midfield. It looks wrong. It feels wrong. And yet it works.

This positional change from centre forward to part of the midfield three does bring some excellent betting opportunities whilst the props market are slow to adjust their lines.

Since dropping deeper into the heart of the midfield, Woltemade has been racking up the foul involvements at a higher rate than his usual output. In both his starts at Aston Villa and Qarabag he's made three foul involvements (fouls won and fouls committed). It's 13/10 to land again with Sky Bet. A cracking price.

SCORE PREDICTION: 2-1

Sky Sports' Laura Hunter at Etihad Stadium:

"There was obviously going to be lots of changes from the team that beat Salford - not particularly convincingly - last weekend. So it makes more sense to analyse the rotation from Man City's last Premier League outing against Fulham 10 days ago.

"Just the one swap, as Phil Foden drops out and Omar Marmoush comes in. That's a very direct, pacy front line, capable of playing as a fluid three or with Antoine Semenyo and Marmous as wingers either side of Erling Haaland.

"By the same token, Newcastle make three changes from the side that beat Spurs. No Sven Botman, Bruno Guimaraes or Harvey Barnes. In come Lewis Hall, Sandro Tonali and Nick Woltemade."
