Manchester United are now prepared to roll out the same strategic call that was made around Ruben Amorim and his players for the Nottingham Forest match.

Nottingham Forest hosted Manchester United at City Ground on the weekend and Sean Dyche’s struggling side were a tricky test for the in-form Red Devils side.

United had beaten Brighton 4-2 at Old Trafford ahead of the Forest encounter, which had chalked up the Red Devils’ third consecutive Premier League win.

Amad Diallo made a huge impact for the Red Devils in the second half after the Ivorian winger’s stunning volley clinched an equaliser for United against Forest.

What Man Utd noticed about Ruben Amorim and his players ahead of the 2-2 Premier League draw vs Nottingham Forest

A key moment before Manchester United’s trip to City Ground was the change in schedule that the Red Devils experienced, including for manager Ruben Amorim.

United manager Amorim had been tipped to hold his pre-match press conference for the Nottingham Forest match on Friday last week ahead of the Saturday fixture.

However, the media briefing involving the 40-year-old Portuguese coach was pulled ahead to last Thursday instead, with The Daily Mail now explaining the change.

According to the newspaper, the United first-team players were left ‘hanging around’ on Fridays for away matches due to when the press conferences were held.

The Red Devils’ squad would train at around 11am and Amorim would be expected to hold his press conference at the Carrington training complex not long after.

The Premier League have a deadline that the press conferences must be done before 1:30pm, which would leave United players with little time to head home.

Why Man Utd changed the press conference schedule and their stance for the Tottenham match

The Daily Mail reports that the Red Devils made the ‘decision’ to shift the schedule around last week, including for United to ‘train later’ on Friday.

The news outlet says the call would allow Amorim and his men ample time to train before heading off for the Forest match, with his press conference date changed.

It is now expected that United will repeat the call for this week, with the Red Devils head coach to hold his press conference for the Tottenham match on Thursday.

United travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon for their Premier League encounter with Spurs ahead of the November international break.

United won’t face the ‘issue again for quite a while’ due to the Red Devils not playing another away match on Saturday until the Arsenal clash in January 2026.
