Well, that was nice while it lasted, or at least, that’s what Jorge Nicola would have had us believe, and it was this yet more work of an influencer, telling us that the Savinho’s agent was flying in from Brazil to oversee discussions.
Earlier today Savinho appeared to be taking steps
We dropped coverage of the original story at 8 am this morning, detailing that Manchester City wanted some £67 million for the Brazilian, whom they sourced from another City Group side, Genoa, for over €40 million less.
Now Pep Guardiola has addressed the matter in his press conference, and here, via Fabrizio Romano, we see the deal is either still on, or that City are playing us for all they are worth.
🚨 Pep Guardiola on Savinho and Spurs: “The only thing I’m concerned about today is that Savinho will be with us until all the season, and hopefully for many, many years”.

“The only thing I’m concerned about today is that Savinho will be with us until all the season, and hopefully for many, many years”.
“He’s extraordinary! But at the end, as always, the desire of the player prevails above everything, and after there has to be an agreement with the club. If you don’t take an agreement, the player will be here”.
The quote from the City gaffer more than suggests that he doesn’t want the player to go, but equally infers that should the player desire the move, and should Daniel Levy pays the magic number, that it could be game on.
But the queation is, do Spurs need Savinho?
It would seem bizarre that a side missing so many components, even when everybody was fit, might rune their nose up the Brazilian. He has form for playing both in the division and generating assists.
Tottenham are a Deloite Moeny League top ten side, and quite frankly we out to bring in both this chap and Eze from Crystal Palace.
