Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur made sizeable investments in this summer’s transfer window but are lacking a winger who can score consistent goals for them, with a battle between the duo likely to ensue in 2026.
According to TBR Football, the Premier League giants are interested in signing Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, who has scored four goals and provided two assists already this season, and has been a talismanic figure for the Cherries.
His contract at the Vitality Stadium is valid until June 2030, so Bournemouth will slap him with a significant price tag in order to drive away suitors in the 25-year-old although it remains to be seen how much longer they can retain him for.
Semenyo has been one of the Premier League’s most exciting wingers in the last couple of seasons with the Ghanaian international capable of playing on either flank and on both sides of the midfield as well.
Man Utd could trump Spurs for Semenyo
If Antoine Semenyo is planning on switching pastures next year, Manchester United are the likelier side between themselves and Tottenham Hotspur to secure a deal for the Bournemouth forward.
With the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford no longer in the club’s plans for the future, they could make a grand signing in the final third if they are able to part company with both the Englishmen on a permanent basis next year.
Tottenham Hotspur might not enter into a bidding war with Man United as they already have two starting wingers in Mohammad Kudus and Xavi Simons, who were acquired this summer and have made decent starts to their careers at the club.
United, though on a downward spiral for the last year or so, have proven that they continue to have a strong allure, and might be able to get a deal done for Antoine Semenyo, especially if Andoni Iraola is also picked as a replacement for Ruben Amorim.
