'Manchester United know how to win trophies, Tottenham Hotspur don't' - Paul Scholes on UEFA Europa League final

TNT Sports expert Paul Scholes has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur do not know how to win trophies after the north Londoners reached the UEFA Europa League final. They did so with a 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Arctic Circle, and they will face Scholes' former club Manchester United in Bilbao after United beat Athletic Club 4-1 on the night at Old Trafford, with Mason Mount scoring twice.

"Manchester United know how to win trophies. Tottenham don’t."
That's the view of Paul Scholes as the former United midfielder looked ahead to their looming showdown in the UEFA Europa League final.
Spurs sealed their place in the showpiece in Bilbao with a 5-1 aggregate win over Bodo/Glimt thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Pedro Porro in the second leg.

United thumped Athletic Club 7-1 on aggregate as Mason Mount played a starring role off the bench in the second leg at Old Trafford, scoring twice.
Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund were also on the scoresheet as the hosts came from a goal down to reach the final in style.
Managers Ruben Amorim and Ange Postecoglou both reached their first European finals with victory, but Scholes feels that United have the edge due to their history.

"They both need it," Scholes said on TNT Sports.
"They both want to win. Manchester United’s history tells me that they will win it. They know how to win trophies. Tottenham don’t. It’s that experience, the size of the club, and the history of the club that will get them over the line.
"I really like Ange, he’s really good and he’s got a really good team, but I just favour Manchester United."
The final has extra spice with the winners guaranteed a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League.

Scholes' ex-team-mate at United and fellow TNT Sports pundit Owen Hargreaves agreed with his assessment.
"It’s going to be fascinating. For Ange, a European trophy: Champions League football. So much at stake for everyone," he said.
"But if United can win a trophy in a down season, it tells you what this club is all about. Momentum is with United, with the energy around the club at the moment."
Both sides have had dismal seasons in the Premier League, with United and Spurs mired in 15th and 16th respectively.
However, a major European trophy would do no harm in salvaging their seasons.
The final will take place in Bilbao on May 26, and you can watch it live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
