Ruben Amorim made one change to his starting line up as Leny Yoro replaced Victor Lindelof in central defence against Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs were the better side in the first-half and led at the break when a combination of Brennan Johnson and Luke Shaw bundled the ball over the line.
United were the better side after the restart and almost equalised when Rasmus Hojlund saw his header cleared off the line by Micky van der Ven, before Bruno Fernandes headed wide of goal.
