Manchester United turn to Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand, Tottenham Hotspur target Porto star - Euro Transfer News

In Tuesday's edition of Euro Transfer News, Manchester United could turn to Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand, while Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting a Porto striker. That is not all, though. Vitalii Mykolenko has been linked with clubs in Italy and Spain, and a Strasbourg defender has been linked with a move to one of four Premier League clubs upon the transfer window opening.

Man Utd turn to Hjulmand in midfield

TEAMtalk believes that Manchester United could try to bring Sporting Lisbon’s Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand to Old Trafford, revisiting interest shown during the summer window.

Hjulmand has made 12 appearances across all competitions for Ruben Amorim’s former side so far this season, scoring one goal.

The Red Devils have struggled to settle on a midfield duo that suits Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation since his arrival at the club. However, Hjulmand could fit the bill.

"Manchester United, under the stewardship of Ruben Amorim, are intensifying their search for midfield reinforcements as the January 2026 transfer window approaches, with a Sporting CP star high on the shortlist," reads the article.

"The Portuguese manager, renowned for his high-pressing, dynamic system, has pinpointed the engine room as a critical area to bolster a squad aiming to reclaim its place among the Premier League elite.

"With the directors steering recruitment, United are pursuing a blend of youth, experience, and tactical fit, with Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand emerging as a prime target."

Spurs target Porto star

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Samu Aghehowa, who currently plays for Portuguese giants Porto.

The Spanish striker has scored eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Spurs have had a mixed start to the campaign, and currently sit in sixth place in the table following a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa last weekend.

TBR Football says that Thomas Frank could try to bolster his side’s attacking options by bringing the 21-year-old to the club.

"TBR Football understands that Tottenham Hotspur have been keeping a close eye on the progress of FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa," reads the article.

"The Spanish striker has been enjoying a successful spell over in Portugal and now looks primed to finally make his big move to one of Europe’s top five leagues.

"Aghehowa almost joined Chelsea back in 2024 from Atletico Madrid, only for the deal to fall apart in the final stages, and the Blues signed Joao Felix instead."

Mykolenko attracts interest from Italy and Spain

Footmercato are reporting that Everton defender Vitalii Mykolenko is attracting interest from clubs in Italy and Spain.

The Ukrainian star joined The Toffees in 2022 from Dynamo Kyiv and has established himself as a key part of their defence.

He has made seven appearances for the club across all competitions so far this season.

However, the French website believes he could return to the continent when the transfer window opens.

The article explains: "According to our information, Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko is attracting interest from several Spanish and Italian clubs, who are closely monitoring the player's situation.

"The Ukrainian international, who joined the Toffees in 2022, has established himself as a key part of the defence, attracting the attention of European teams looking for a reliable and experienced full-back."

Strasbourg defender linked with four Premier League clubs

Caught Offside have said that four Premier League clubs are interested in signing Strasbourg full-back Guela Doue.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford, but the reports suggest he could command a transfer fee in the region of £26 million.

Doue has made five appearances for the French side across all competitions so far this season, scoring one goal and producing two assists.

"Guela Doue has become one of the most talked-about names ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window, as his performances in Ligue 1 continue to turn heads across Europe," the article reads.

"The 23-year-old right-back, currently playing for Strasbourg, has shown maturity and consistency beyond his years.

"As January approaches, a transfer battle could be on the horizon, with several Premier League sides leading the charge for his signature."
