Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi this summer.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the England international’s fitness record ahead of a potential medical.

The 24-year-old’s deal at Selhurst Park runs out at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Guehi expected to clear medical despite knee injury issues

Spurs may look at his knee injury issues in greater detail, but he’s not expected to have issues with his medical, according to Dr Brar.

Bayern Munich and Tottenham are both keen on Guehi and in recent days, Liverpool have shown a serious interest as well.

Discussing the state of play with Guehi exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“Spurs may look closer at his knee to see if there any changes they aren’t comfortable with,” he said.

“However, I do not see it causing issues with his medical.

“He has played in the Premier League for a while and this wear and tear isn’t far from the ordinary so it’s not much to worry about.“

Tottenham signing Guehi would be a solid move

Guehi would be an excellent signing for Tottenham under Thomas Frank due to his defensive reliability, tactical fit, and leadership qualities.

At 24, the Crystal Palace captain brings Premier League experience with over 150 appearances, offering stability to a Spurs defence that struggled with injuries and inconsistency last season.

His composure on the ball and ability to play progressive passes suit Frank’s system, which emphasises discipline and build-up play from the back.

Guehi’s versatility to operate in a back four or three provides tactical flexibility, addressing Tottenham’s need for depth amid concerns over Cristian Romero’s potential departure to Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid.

As an England international and FA Cup-winning captain, Guehi’s leadership and big-match experience would bolster Spurs’ Champions League campaign.

With his contract nearing its end, a move could be cost-effective, making him a smart addition to elevate Tottenham’s defensive resilience and long-term potential.
