Marseille ruled out of race for Tottenham player due to ‘political reasons’

Manor Solomon’s agent has made a significant admission about the Tottenham winger’s future, casting doubt over a summer move to France amid growing interest from several clubs.

Manor Solomon has certainly impressed on loan at Leeds United this season, with the Israeli winger scoring ten goals and assisting 13 times in the Championship.

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee was even the one who grabbed a 91st-minute winner in Leeds United’s clash against Plymouth Argyle – a goal that ultimately secured the Yorkshire club the Championship title.

Leeds United have been impressed with Solomon’s displays throughout the campaign, which is why it has been reported that Leeds are now working on a permanent deal for Manor Solomon.

Manor Solomon’s agent rules out Marseille switch

The soon-to-be Premier League side are not the only ones to have shown interest in the Spurs loanee, with Everton and Marseille also reportedly keen on securing Solomon’s signature.

Just yesterday, it was revealed that Marseille qualifying for the UEFA Champions League could convince Solomon to favour a move to Ligue 1.

However, Manor Solomon’s agent has now publicly spoken about the future of the 25-year-old winger. According to the agent, the Tottenham man is not considering a move to France at all.

Speaking to Le 10 Sport, he said: “[Roberto] De Zerbi sent a message to Manor, but he told him that he could not play for Marseille for political reasons.

“It is difficult to play in another league when you have had a taste of the Premier League. Manor is having a great time at Leeds, but he is under contract with Spurs.

“He likes the Premier League, but in football, you never know… It all depends on what Daniel Levy wants to do.”

Indeed, Tottenham are reported to be willing to sell Solomon, with a £15-£20 million valuation already placed on the winger.

As stated earlier, Leeds United are expected to face stiff competition from Everton, who are the other Premier League side said to have concrete interest in the Israeli international.

It has been suggested that Leeds are already preparing an offer for Solomon, and with the winger enjoying his football at Elland Road, it would be no surprise if he continues there next season.
