Manchester United fans have dropped an instant reaction to Matthijs de Ligt’s superb Premier League performance against Tottenham on Saturday afternoon’s 2-2 draw.
Spurs hosted Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Red Devils took the lead in the first half through summer signing Bryan Mbeumo.
Bryan Mbeumo netted past Guglielmo Vicario from a standing header in the 32nd minute after Amad Diallo picked out the 26-year-old Cameroon winger with a cross.
United took a 1-0 lead over Tottenham at half-time and Thomas Frank’s men were left chasing the Premier League match in the second half on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United fans on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, were full of praise for the 26-year-old Dutchman’s overall performance against Tottenham.
“De Ligt is turning into a proper leader,” a Red Devils supporter wrote.
Another X user posted: “Mr De Ligt. Deserves that goal. Has been consistent for so long and never really gets the praise he deserves.”
While a third United fan suggested: “De Ligt [has] arguably our best player all season. Thank you for sparing our blushes. Need more mentalities like his in the team.”

And a fifth added: “Mbeumo and De Ligt [are] carrying this club this season.”

A seventh tweeted: “De Ligt [is] showing his character once again. What a player he is turning out for United.”

De Ligt has been consistent since his arrival at Old Trafford and the former Ajax and Bayern Munich defender is a key defender for Ruben Amorim in the backline.
The United centre-back was in his element across the 90 minutes and De Ligt’s performance was rewarded by rescuing the Red Devils from a shock defeat.
United will now return to action on 24th November in the aftermath of the November international break, with the Red Devils set to face Everton.
