Manchester United are pushing to get a deal done to bolster their attack in the coming days, with a medical already planned, according to an insider.
The Red Devils have completed three deals already this summer, signing Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow in deals that all accelerated very quickly before being sealed, which has boosted Michael Carrick's squad ahead of the new campaign.
The club are still keen to make more additions before the end of the summer transfer window, however, and they also have one eye on the future, which has seen them step up their pursuit of a very talented youngster.
Man Utd Move for Tynan Thompson
According to a report by The Secret Scout, Man Utd are pushing to get a deal done to sign Tottenham wonderkid Tynan Thompson.
Thompson, who has been described as 'exciting' and compared to Marcus Rashford, is an 18-year-old left-winger who has entered the final year of his contract with the north London club.
However, it's reported that Man Utd were made aware of the opportunity to sign the forward last week, and are now looking to complete a deal to bring him to Old Trafford, with a medical already planned before completing the move.
Bundesliga side Hamburg are also understood to be keen to complete a deal for Thompson, but Man Utd want to complete a deal quickly and are currently seen as the favourites for his signature.
A fee will have to be agreed between the two clubs, but that isn't seen as a hurdle at this stage, and a deal is expected to be completed.
Man Utd Signing Top Talent
Thompson may not be a household name at this stage, but he is unbelievably talented, and Man Utd's coaches and staff already know it.
The 18-year-old enjoyed a fine campaign for the Spurs academy in 2025/26, registering 13 goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, proving that his silky and skillful style isn't just for show, and that he actually has output.
Alongside top talents such as Chido Obi, Shea Lacey, Noah Ajayi, and JJ Gabriel, Man Utd are building an array of forward options in their academy that can step up into the first-team in the coming years, and Thompson is the latest to be added to that group.
