Micky van de Ven is considering leaving Tottenham Hotspur after the season and has earmarked Liverpool as his preferred destination, according to reports.
The Netherlands international is believed to be weighing up his options amid a difficult season with the north London club, who sit just 14th in the Premier League after 21 games.
Spurs suffered a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth on Wednesday, after which Van de Ven was involved in a tense exchange with travelling fans.
The 24-year-old, who joined Tottenham from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023, is under contract until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Micky van de Ven Wants Liverpool Move
According to reports, Van de Ven could be looking for a summer move from Tottenham and has earmarked Liverpool as his ‘major target’.
The Dutchman is believed to be a childhood fan of the Merseyside club, where he would join forces with compatriots Arne Slot, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch.
Van de Ven is reportedly only interested in staying within the Premier League, but would make an exception for Real Madrid if the 15-time Champions League winners ended up calling for his signature.
Luring him out of Tottenham, however, will be a difficult task as the Lilywhites are in a strong negotiating position, with his £112,000-a-week contract running for another three-and-a-half seasons.
Van de Ven has been a key player for Spurs ever since his arrival in 2023, amassing 78 appearances and scoring nine goals across all competitions.
Van de Ven Could Replace Konate
If Liverpool end up moving for Van de Ven after the season, the Dutch centre-back could be brought in as a replacement for Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires after the season.
While the Frenchman has been offered a new deal, he has yet to make a decision on his future at Anfield amid interest from other European clubs.
Liverpool’s primary target, however, appears to remain Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who is also set to be out of contract in less than six months.
A host of Premier League clubs are following Guehi’s situation this month, as Palace are open to selling the defender to avoid losing him on a free transfer in June.
Man City to Battle Liverpool for Guehi?
Manchester City have emerged as suitors for Guehi this week, with Pep Guardiola’s side reportedly exploring a move for the England international following injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias.
Guehi was close to signing for Liverpool in the final days of the summer transfer window, before Palace pulled out of the deal as they were unable to sign a replacement in time.
