Mikey Moore is set to leave Tottenham this summer in search of regular game time.
Moore became Tottenham’s youngest player to feature in the Premier League when he came on as a substitute against Manchester City in May 2024.
He followed that up with a far more regular involvement last season, breaking another record to become Spurs’ youngest goalscorer in Europe with his impressive solo effort against IF Elfsborg in January 2025.
However, with fewer guarantees of minutes afforded to him by Thomas Frank, the 17-year-old is set to leave on loan this summer.
Rangers emerge as favourites to sign Moore on loan
Moore was left out of Tottenham’s Asia pre-season tour squad to allow the England Under-19 international the chance to secure a loan deal.
MORE SPURS STORIES
A handful of Championship sides are thought to be keen on a deal, while Borussia Dortmund have also reportedly kept tabs on the gifted winger.
Moore has pushed for a loan move this summer after suffering various setbacks last season, which hampered his development and resulted in him missing vital match minutes.
The Spurs academy graduate could now be heading to Scotland as Rangers have emerged as favourites to sign the youngster on loan, as reported by Matt Law (28 July).
The possibility of dropping down a division still remains, but the Gers seem to have stolen ahead in the race as they look to make up ground on Celtic.
Tottenham facing growing issue in Champions League
Moore’s likely departure this summer will only further Tottenham’s issues in the UEFA Champions League next season, as they are short of the homegrown quota.
Brandon Austin is the only senior academy player currently at Spurs, meaning that the Lilywhites will have a total of 22 players to compete with in Europe, down from 25.
As such, Tottenham have looked at deals for former graduates in Dennis Cirkin and Kyle Walker-Peters, before he joined West Ham, to boost those numbers.
Frank will face difficult decisions about which players to leave out of the squad, while he will have to fill the remaining spots with academy graduates, and could rue letting one of their best youngsters, Moore, leave.
