Mikey Moore is no doubt one of Tottenham’s best upcoming talents.

The 17-year-old progressed through Spurs’ academy and made multiple first-team appearances last season.

Moore has recently been linked with a loan move to West Brom after Ryan Mason became the Baggies manager.

Nevertheless, Tottenham are looking to extend Moore’s contract as well as many other starlets in the academy.

Moore reacts to Dante Cassanova’s new Tottenham contract

Tottenham have made a bad habit of letting many of their talented youth players go without them fulfilling their potential.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Max Robson is set to leave Spurs at the end of June, with multiple other upcoming stars also set to depart.

However, Tottenham have now secured the future of Dante Cassanova who has signed a new contract with the London club.

The 20-year-old is seen as a bright, upcoming talent and was named in the matchday squad in October when Spurs played Ferencvaros in the Europa League.

The defender captained the Under-21s side on several occasions last season, and his new contract will run until 2027.

Cassanova quickly announced his delight about his contract extension on Instagram (20 June) as he posted a photo of the signing with the caption: “The work continues”.

Moore was quick to respond to the post, commenting: “My boy” with a red heart.

Spurs need to do more to secure their upcoming talents

Now that Cassanova’s contract is sorted, Tottenham need to offer further deals to their upcoming stars.

Spurs’ academy is the future of the London club, and Tottenham have produced multiple fantastic talents over the years.

This was largely ignored by Ange Postecoglou, with the Australian rarely dipping into the youth.

This needs to change under Thomas Frank if Spurs are to become a stable, top Premier League side.

Hopefully, Cassanova’s new deal is a sign that Tottenham’s youth will be taken more seriously this season.
