Nottingham Forest defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 in North London in a game that was built up as a final.

Fans lined the streets of London close to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but it was Forest who maintained their focus and breathed life into their fight against survival.

How did YOU rate Neco Williams’ performance for Nottingham Forest against Tottenham?

Goals from Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi ensured all three points for a Forest team who were without a win in the Premier League since January.

After the game, Forest announced their Man of the Match accolade, and Neco Williams reacted to receiving the official title from the club’s supporters.

Williams turned in a vintage performance to help Forest on their way to a big three points as he worked tirelessly at both ends of the pitch.

The Welshman now faces the World Cup qualifying campaign with Wales as they face Bosnia and then possibly Italy to try to reach the finals in the summer.

After this performance, he reacted on X to the decision from the fans to name him as the Man of the Match, saying: “Thank you for your support as always. Some week for you, the fans!”

MORE FOREST STORIES

Williams was back to his best in the game against Tottenham and it’s a welcome return to form for a player who is being tasked with playing a lot of football right now.

Forest will hope Williams can return in the same form

It’s been a struggle to watch Williams look absolutely spent over the last few weeks, with Vitor Pereira counting on him at left-back.

His stunning form has tailed off a little bit in recent weeks, but as ever, with Williams it’s never through a lack of trying when he’s out on the pitch.

GET IN THERE!!!!

Williams is one of the team’s hardest-working players, and his two assists at Tottenham were his reward for dogged persistence and determination in recent weeks.

Hopefully, Williams can return from international duty revitalised and ready to help Forest in the final seven games of the Premier League campaign and in the Europa League.
