Tottenham Hotspur may miss out on yet another of their attacking midfield targets, with Newcastle United now stepping up their pursuit of the player.
It was reported that signing a number ten had become a priority for Thomas Frank following James Maddison’s ACL injury.
A whole host of attacking midfielders have been linked with a move to Spurs over recent weeks, but those targets are now being snapped up by other clubs.
According to reports, Tottenham have abandoned their pursuit of Harvey Elliott, who is in talks with RB Leipzig, while James McAtee grew tired of waiting for Spurs and decided to sign for Nottingham Forest.
Tottenham could miss out on Bilal El Khannouss after Newcastle step up interest
Spurs are now in danger of missing out on another of their midfield targets, according to a new update. It has been widely reported that Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss is on Tottenham’s radar.
However, The Telegraph now claim that Newcastle are now ready to push forward with the signing of El Khannouss, who is emerging as a ‘serious target’ for the Magpies.
The report reveals that the Moroccan international’s contract at the King Power Stadium contains a £30m clause which can be activated in the event of the Foxes’ relegation.
