Newcastle United predicted XI v Tottenham Hotspur as Nico Gonzalez decision made

Matthias Jaissle is weighing up whether to throw Nico Gonzalez straight into his Newcastle United starting XI.

The Magpies visit Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this evening, four days after Gonzalez joined the club in a £50million deal from Manchester City.

Jaissle has shown he is not afraid to turn to a player fresh through the door, having started £30million signing Amar Dedic against Liverpool, though the German had worked with the right-back before at RB Leipzig and FC Liefering.

“He trained with us and he looks sharp,” Jaissle said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday evening. “He is an option.

“It will take time and I cannot tell you how long it takes, but he's a smart player, he has huge potential and already brings so much quality in the squad. I think he will adapt fast into our system, into our way of playing.”
