It’s been a significant week for Newcastle United on the transfer front.

The Magpies sanctioned their second major sale of the summer as Sandro Tonali follows Anthony Gordon out of the St James’ Park exit door. Gordon joined Barcelona for £69million, and United have banked a further £100million through the sale of Tonali to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s claimed those sales will enable Newcastle to strengthen in multiple positions, the first of which is set to be Gordon’s replacement as Ivory Coast international Bazoumana Toure finalises his £43million move from Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim.

The 20-year-old arrived on Tyneside on Thursday to undergo his medical and put pen to paper on a long-term contract.

Newcastle want another midfielder to replace Tonali, but could sign another as well. They are hoping to seal a deal for World Cup star Johan Manzambi, while there are a couple of other names being linked too.

Lamine Camara ‘keen’ on Newcastle United move

Newcastle are interested in signing Lamine Camara and according to the iPaper, the Monaco midfielder is understood to be keen on the move.

The 22-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Monaco after joining from Metz, and his performances have caught the eye of several European clubs.

Camara has been closely watched at this summer’s World Cup, where he started all four of Senegal’s game before their devastating round of 32 exit at the hands of Belgium.

Newcastle United linked with Sandro Tonali Italy teammate

As per Italian publication Quotidiano Sportivo, Fiorentina are braced for an approach from Newcastle for midfielder Nicolo Fagioli.

The report claims Tonali’s move to Spurs “risks becoming a veritable domino effect, capable of reaching all the way to Florence” with the Magpies reportedly admirers of Fagioli.

As a result, Fiorentina are “already taking precautions”, with : Sassuolo's Kristian Thorstvedt and Juventus' Fabio Miretti among those shortlisted should United move for Fagioli.
