Arsenal are ready to embarrass Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer market again as the two sides could go head-to-head again to sign Brentford captain Nathan Collins in the final days of the window, according to TBR Football.
The north London rivals have butted heads twice already this summer for Eberechi Eze and Piero Hincapie, with the former completing a move to the Emirates when Spurs thought they had a deal tied up to sign the England international from Crystal Palace.
Tottenham also looked to be the Premier League frontrunners for Bayer Leverkusen star Hincapie, before it emerged that Arsenal had made their move and the player also preferred to join them - a deal is yet to advance for the Ecuador international, however.
Arsenal and Tottenham Could go 'Head-to-Head' for Nathan Collins
According to TBR Football, Arsenal and Tottenham could now clash for a third time this summer to sign Brentford skipper Collins.
Both clubs are looking to add a left-sided centre-back to their squads before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night, with Hincapie's £50m+ release clause proving to be an issue as things stand.
According to TBR, the London rivals are now both keen on Collins in the remaining days of the window should a swoop for Hincapie prove impossible, and are ready to make their move for the 'high-quality' 24-year-old.
The report says they could face issues dealing with Brentford too though, with the Bees making it clear they are unwilling to lose such a key player at this stage of the window.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Brentford paid £23m to sign Nathan Collins from Wolves in a then-club-record deal in 2023.
Liverpool also have a long-standing interest in Collins, although Arne Slot is currently preferring a move to sign Crystal Palace and England star Nathan Collins instead.
Meanwhile, Tottenham boss Thomas Frank remains a big fan of the defender having managed him at Brentford prior to joining Spurs in the summer.
If Arsenal can bring in a new defender before the deadline, it will represent a strong and successful summer for director of football Andrea Berta, who has already added Kepa, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Martin Zubimendi, Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres, and Eze to Mikel Arteta's squad.
