Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham are now just over a month away from opening the 2026/27 Premier League season with an away game at Brentford.
The Spurs team are now back at Hotspur Way to begin their preparations for the new term and De Zerbi will be targeting a quick start as they bid to right the wrongs of the previous two league campaigns.
Prior to that match in west London, Tottenham come up against MK Dons, Auckland FC, Sydney FC, Chelsea, Getafe and Hoffenheim in their summer friendlies.
Those upcoming games will be the first opportunity to see new signings Martin Dubravka, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in action, with the hope that a few more signings link up with the club prior to the Brentford match.
Tottenham are in need of further attacking reinforcements and all will be keeping their fingers crossed that the club can get a couple over the line for De Zerbi before the big kick-off.
Previous interest in Scienza
Tottenham are one of five Premier League clubs who have previously watched Southampton ace Leo Scienza in action, according to Spanish publication AS.
The 'outstanding' Brazilian made a real name for himself at St Mary's last season after joining in a move from German club Heidenheim.
Scienza finished the campaign with seven goals and ten assists to his name in 44 appearances for Southampton, with the player more than playing his part as Saints made it all the way to the FA Cup semi-finals after notable victories over Fulham and Arsenal.
Either operating as an attacking midfielder or left-winger, Scienza impressed all watching on with his dribbling ability, eye for a pass and tendency to find the net.
Alerting a number of clubs in the process, AS report that Tottenham, Aston Villa, Fulham, Everton and Leeds United were the five Premier League teams to have previously observed him in action.
Scienza's next move
A move away from Southampton could be a real possibility for Scienza after failing to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Saints had set up a play-off final showdown against Hull City but were thrown out of the play-offs in the days leading up to the final after admitting that they had spied on three clubs during the league season.
Scienza is not going to be short on options as AS claim that Spanish sides Real Betis and Real Sociedad are vying for his signature after a standout campaign in the Championship.
The publication also reports that Italian duo Atalanta and Como have been following the talented player and the same goes for Premier League side Crystal Palace.
