Tottenham Hotspur have made contact over the potential signing of Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, according to a report from TEAMtalk.
Lookman has enjoyed an impressive spell in Italy after leaving England to try and take himself to the next level. The former Everton winger struggled in the Premier League, also spending time with Leicester, Charlton, and Fulham. Tottenham are in the market for new additions in the final third after James Maddison suffered a knee injury, which could keep him out for the majority of the season.
It's been an exciting start to the Premier League campaign for Spurs, winning both of their games so far, even beating Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Despite their strong start to the season, Spurs will be hoping to bring in reinforcements, especially after qualifying for the Champions League.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham have initiated contact with the representatives of Lookman to try and figure out whether a potential move before the deadline is feasible. The London-born winger, who represents Nigeria at international level, has been identified as a prime target for Spurs, who are in the market for new options in the final third.
Lookman, who has been described as 'world-class', appeared to be edging close to a move to Serie A side Inter Milan, before a potential deal collapsed. The 27-year-old has reportedly submitted an official transfer request as he aims to move on before the window slams shut on Monday evening.
Spurs are desperately trying to make another attacking signing over the coming days, with GIVEMESPORT correspondent Fabrizio Romano also confirming that they have made contact with Bournemouth for Antoine Semenyo. Another London-born forward, Semenyo has enjoyed an impressive spell with the Cherries, but he did recently sign a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
It's unclear whether Tottenham are in the market for multiple attacking players before the end of the window, or whether they are testing the waters to see which player they can bring in. Either way, there's no doubt Thomas Frank's recruitment team are incredibly active heading into the final days, and we're likely to see a new forward sign on the dotted line before the window closes.
