Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a deal to sign Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo this summer with the Ligue 1 side open to a sale, according to RMC Sport.

The north London club are keen to strengthen their attack for Thomas Frank this summer and want a striker to compete with Dominic Solanke, having already added Ghana star Mohammed Kudus to their squad in a £55m deal.

While there is interest in Brentford striker Yoane Wissa, the club are being met with resistance by his club, and are now looking at a move for an alternative option instead.

Tottenham Want to Sign Kalimuendo

Rennes will sell for between £26-30m

Kalimuendo, who has been described as a 'real killer' by analyst Ben Mattinson, has emerged as a potential target for the Lilywhites after the Ligue 1 side admitted that they would be open to a deal.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a fine 2024/25 campaign where he scored 17 goals in 33 appearances, and that has attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe including Spurs.

Rennes would be willing to sell the Frenchman for a fee of between €30m-35m (£26m-30m), and that has sparked the attention of the north London side as they look for more attacking options for the upcoming season.

The player is out of contract in 2027 and Rennes are considering cashing in to ensure they get maximum value for their star man, which is a very different stance to what Brentford are currently taking for Wissa.

The DR Congo star wants to leave the club to pursue his dream of playing Champions League football, with Frank open to a reunion with the 29-year-old. However, Brentford don't want to sell despite him having just one year left on his deal plus the option of a further 12 months.

The Bees are valuing Wissa in excess of £50m and Spurs face stiff competition from Newcastle from his signature, which could see Kalimuendo provide a more realistic and easier alternative.
