Former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou could return to Premier League management in the very near future.

Postecoglou guided Spurs to the Europa League trophy last season, yet was sacked after two years in charge following Spurs’ horrific performance in the Premier League.

Despite bringing long-awaited silverware to the club, Postecoglou’s dismissal in June was not seen as a shock to Spurs fans after suffering 22 defeats in the Premier League last season.

Now, he could be competing with Spurs following shocking news at another Premier League club.

Ange Postecoglou front-runner to become Nottingham Forest manager

Former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked by Nottingham Forest overnight following months of rumours that he had fallen out with the ownership.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to want a manager who plays more attractive football, with Postecoglou the favourite to join Nottingham Forest, as reported by The Telegraph.

Undoubtedly, this has raised loads of talk on X, with Forest fans strongly against the appointment of Postecoglou.

With the reception of Nuno’s departure and links to Postecoglou being met negatively by fans, the former Spurs boss will need to get off to a great start if he becomes the new Forest manager.

Ange Postecoglou’s style of play a big change for Nottingham Forest

Nuno had gained many plaudits whilst in Nottingham, taking Forest from 17th to seventh in just one season.

His pragmatism made Forest such a tricky team to beat, as they occupied a place in the top four for much of the season.

Stylistically, Postecoglou is the complete opposite of what Forest fans have experienced over the last 21 months, and his reputation for not being tactically flexible is a huge red flag for them.

Postecoglou was under heavy pressure at Tottenham throughout his second season, and he will need to get Forest fans on board with the project as soon as he arrives; otherwise, life in Nottingham could prove challenging for the Australian.
