Tottenham fans think Pape Matar Sarr will become a ‘beast’ under Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur fans think Pape Matar Sarr will become a ‘beast’ under Thomas Frank after his impressive showing against Arsenal.
The midfielder scored an exceptional goal from about 55 yards out as he caught David Raya off his line after the Spaniard had come flying out of his area.
The Senegalese international now has three goals during pre-season and has been used in a more advanced role under Spurs’ new boss.
Sarr has shown great potential at Tottenham, but struggled for consistency, which could perhaps change in this new era under Frank.
The Lilywhites’ supporters are now backing their midfielder to become a key player under the 51-year-old and took to X during the match to express their thoughts.
One fan said: “Frank has already brought Sarr to a new level. Three goals this pre-season already.”
“Pape Matar Sarr’s gonna be a beast under Thomas Frank,” another claimed.
There was further praise for the youngster: “Love seeing Frank already unlocking new levels to players, Sarr has been amazing these pre-season games.”
Finally, another wrote: “Pape Matar Sarr has been so good today… And now topped it off with a wonder goal.. Going to be a quality player under Thomas Frank.”
The 22-year-old was the man who assisted Tottenham’s winning goal in the Europa League final, which was a great show of his quality.
Now, Sarr, who cost £21m, could well benefit from playing in a team with a greater defensive structure and alongside other midfielders who will allow him to get forward.
Pape Matar Sarr scores an extraordinary goal vs Arsenal
Sarr’s goal against their bitter rivals could well be the highlight of pre-season, which was a quite remarkable strike.
The midfielder spotted Raya off his line after he ventured outside of his box to start Arsenal’s build-up play.
He then generated just enough power to loop the ball over the Arsenal keeper and under the crossbar to open the scoring.
Adding a goal threat to his game, as he is showing in pre-season, could make him a crucial member of Frank’s midfield ahead of next season.
