Fabio Paratici appears to already be pulling the strings ahead of a potential return to Tottenham.

Paratici was forced to step down from his role as Tottenham Managing Director after he was handed a 30-month ban from worldwide footballing activities.

The Italian has been widely linked with a return to Tottenham and is expected to start work in July when his ban is finally lifted. However, it appears that the 52-year-old is already making moves in N17.

Tottenham prepare £21million bid for Giovanni Leoni

As reported by CaughtOffside on Friday (20 June), Tottenham are considering making an opening offer in the region of £21million for Giovanni Leoni.

Scouts in North London have been monitoring the Parma defender in recent times.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Leoni is under contract until 2029. However, Tottenham could still make an offer for the 18-year-old in a deal which appears to have Paratici’s fingerprints all over it.

With Paratici’s close links to Italy in mind, he is most likely the brains behind the transfer.

But Spurs will need to act fast, as Napoli, Inter Milan, and AC Milan are all interested. Tottenham also face competition from Bournemouth and Wolves, who are keen to bring him to the Premier League.

Tottenham should secure Leoni this summer

Leoni is an opportunity too good for Daniel Levy to pass up this summer.

Standing at six feet and five inches, the defender is monstrous in the air and capable of playing with both feet. He has often been praised for his strong, agile and modern style of play.

Furthermore, Leoni excels specifically in the build-up and can cover a lot of ground by utilising his elite passing range. He is comfortable playing on the right or centre when in a back three and is praised for his composure on the ball.

However, he will unlikely be a signing for the near future.

Micky van de Ven is expected to remain at Tottenham, and while Romero’s future is up in the air, Tottenham would likely replace their star centre-back with a more experienced defender.

However, Leoni is a talented young player that Levy should look to sign, especially if he has been recommended by Paratici.
