Really coming into his own as a Spain international over the course of the last two years, Pedro took his performances for his national team to a whole new level at the World Cup.

Consistent, resilient and dogged at the back, the full-back then showed his prowess in the final third, scoring his first two goals for his country - including an incredible effort to see Spain into the final with victory over France - while he played his part in Ferran Torres' World Cup winning strike in Sunday's final against Argentina.

With a World Cup medal in hand - not to mention the iconic trophy - the right-back now has further accolade's to his name as he has earned a place in the Team of the Tournament.

An XI voted for by fans, the poll on FIFA's website asked supporters of the world game to build their dream XI from the 2026 tournament - and Pedro got the nod at right-back.

FIFA's Dream XI 2026: Vozinha (Cape Verde), Pedro Porro (Spain), Dayot Upamecano (France), Lisandro Martinez (Argentina), Marc Cucurella (Spain), Rodri (Spain), Michael Olise (France), Jue Bellingham (England), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Kylian Mbappé (France), Erling Haaland (Norway).

After no official XI was confirmed for the last tournament (2022), it is the first time since 2018 where we have had a player in the team of the tournament.

At the tournament held in Russia, Harry Kane - who also won the tournament's Golden Boot - was named in the XI after he scored six goals to help England to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in 28 years.
