Ange Postecoglou seems destined for an immediate return to the Premier League after being dismissed by Tottenham.
The Australian boss led Tottenham to Europa League glory, delivering their first major trophy in 17 years, but ultimately paid the price for a dismal domestic campaign by losing his job.
Daniel Levy has opted to take Spurs in a different direction by turning to Thomas Frank, who is the polar opposite of Postecoglou’s abrasive personality.
Levy’s decision has been perceived by many to be a harsh one, but Postecoglou may be in line for an unexpectedly quick return to the top flight.
Postecoglou’s odds slashed amid Brentford search
Tottenham had been linked with plenty of different names after parting company with Postecoglou. However, Levy was ultimately clear as to who his number one target was, and managed to persuade Frank to leave Brentford after seven years at the helm.

The Dane has brought highly-rated coach Justin Cochrane with him to N17, which now leaves Brentford facing their own search for both a new manager and a new set of coaching staff.
Frank has built the Bees into an attractive proposition for any potential candidates, as they are a club who continually manage to make steady progress, regardless of the fact they regularly lose their key players to bigger clubs.
Postecoglou’s odds to take over at the Gtech Community Stadium had previously been out at 10/1, but they have now been cut to 8/1, according to Oddschecker (14 June).
Postecoglou is deserving of another chance
With Brentford preparing to hand Postecoglou a second chance in the Premier League, it’s hard to argue with the sentiment that he could still carve out a career as a successful boss in English football.
For all the criticism he received during his last few months at Spurs, it’s easy to forget that his side were once touted as one of the most entertaining in the country.
The 59-year-old’s style of football is as entertaining as it comes on its day, and if he can show a little more adaptability in his next job, then there’s every reason to believe that he could become a success once again.
