West Ham United are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur's Yves Bissouma on loan, with Spurs aiming to get the midfielder out the door before the transfer window closes, according to TBR.

Bissouma is surplus to requirements in north London, as the club put him up for sale following the UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. The 28-year-old was omitted from the squad, having been dropped for repeated lateness and breaking the club's "internal rules," and has not featured in the squad for Spurs' Premier League wins against Burnley and Manchester City.

West Ham manager Graham Potter has repeatedly stressed the need for new signings before September 1st, most recently before the Irons' 5-1 loss against Chelsea. And a reunion with former Brighton midfielder Bissouma could be on the cards.

West Ham Want Bissouma

According to TBR, West Ham have emerged as a serious contender to sign Bissouma before the window closes. Spurs are reportedly "desperate" to ensure that he leaves before the deadline, while they are also pushing for the sales of Bryan Gil and Manor Solomon.

Despite Tottenham's desire to sell, they would sanction a loan deal. And the Hammers would be interested in a temporary switch as they seek to replace Edson Alvarez, who has joined Fenerbahce.

Bissouma, hailed as "ridiculous" by his Spurs teammate James Maddison, has several potential suitors. Everton are reportedly "monitoring" his situation at in north London, as David Moyes seeks to add further cover in the engine room.

Since arriving at Tottenham in 2022 from Brighton, Bissouma has been a key player for the Lilywhites. Earning £100,000-a-week, he was a constant in Ange Postecoglou's setup, making 100 appearances and scoring two goals.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Bissouma has missed 25 games for Tottenham through injury since arriving at the club.

His departure could hasten Tottenham's desire to sign an additional midfielder, although they have signed Joao Palhinha on loan from Bayern Munich. The Portuguese international is one of six signings made by Daniel Levy this summer, along with Mohammed Kudus, Mathys Tel, Kevin Danso, Luka Vuskovic and Kota Takai.

Tottenham are keeping tabs on West Ham's Lucas Paqueta, so the Brazilian and Bissouma may well switch homes before transfer window shuts. West Ham, meanwhile, are interested in signing Hector Fort on loan from Barcelona, with midfield reinforcements a key priority for manager Potter.
