There is one potential complication that Tottenham face amidst their legal standoff with Nottingham Forest over Morgan Gibbs-White, as Thomas Frank is keen to get the midfielder through the door quickly.

We await the outcome regarding Morgan Gibbs-White’s future, as Nottingham Forest have officially filed a legal complaint against Tottenham for approaching their midfielder without their permission after the North Londoners activated the player’s £60m release clause.

It has been alleged that Forest are determined to make the Gibbs-White deal difficult for Spurs even if they might not be able to stop the transfer.

While reports continue to indicate that Tottenham remain confident of landing Gibbs-White, at this moment, the Lilywhites are unaware of how long the case can take to be resolved.

The Premier League have not given a timeline for the Morgan Gibbs-White to Tottenham case

The Times have now explained that Forest are accusing Tottenham Hotspur of breaching Premier League Rule T.1, which states that “any club wishing to talk to a player who is still under contract needs the prior written consent of the club the player is contracted to before an approach can be made”.

Any club which breaches the rule by making direct or indirect contact with the player without approaching his club first could face disciplinary action.

However, concerningly for Tottenham, the Premier League have not given a timeline for the conclusion of the Morgan Gibbs-White case, which means that the London side are unaware of how long this could drag on.
