Vasco da Gama are reportedly interested in signing Richarlison, who has been told that he doesn't have a future at Tottenham Hotspur under new manager Thomas Frank.

Brazilian outlet Canal Vasco (via Bolavip) reports that Vasco's board are "working behind the scenes to advance negotiations for Richarlison". His future has been uncertain amid a frustrating spell in North London, where he has failed to live up to expectations.

The report claims that the 28-year-old has already been informed, seemingly by Frank, that he's best off departing. Initial reports were suggesting the Danish coach would consider making the player his starting number nine, but it now appears the Lilywhites are willing to offload.

Vasco Trying To Sign Tottenham's Richarlison

Spurs attacker is wanted by four Brazilian clubs

Vasco want to sign Richarlison on a permanent deal, but this will require the Brazilian international to take a significant wage cut to make the move. He is purported to be earning £175,000, a salary that is considered too high.

If the former Everton attacker does make the switch, he'll become the Brazilian club's latest high-profile acquisition from the Premier League. Philippe Coutinho completed a permanent move from Aston Villa on Friday (July 4) after spending last season on loan.

Richarlison has two years left on his contract, but a summer exit looks to be on the cards, and a return to Brazil is the likeliest option. Fluminense, with whom he started his career, are also keen on a reunion, while Flamengo and Palmeiras are also in the race.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Richarlison is Tottenham's third most expensive signing in the club's history.

There's no word on the price those respective clubs would be willing to pay but he cost Spurs for £60m in the summer of 2022. He was linked with Everton earlier this year and GIVEMESPORT sources learned that there was confidence that he'd cost less than £40m.
