Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White could reassess his options in January amid ongoing interest from Tottenham, according to CaughtOffside.

The England international was targeted by Spurs before the start of the season and even saw his £60m release clause activated but opted to prolong his stay at the City Ground, penning a new three-year contract.

While the extension initially quietened the speculation around his next move, Gibbs-White’s future is reportedly set to become a hot topic once again when the winter market reopens, with several Premier League clubs eyeing a potential mid-season deal.

The 25-year-old is expected to make a fresh reassessment of his options at the turn of the year, with the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham and Newcastle keeping a close eye on his situation.

Gibbs-White has started in each of Forest’s first three Premier League matches, assisting once in their only 3-1 home win over Brentford.

Spurs May Revisit Gibbs-White Deal

According to CaughtOffside, Forest would not be under pressure to sell Gibbs-White in January, having just tied him to a fresh three-year agreement, but there are suggestions that an offer of £56-60m could force the club to reconsider their stance.

Forest rewarded Gibbs-White with an improved salary package in his new contract, but the club’s long-term ambitions and his personal development goals could reportedly shape a decision over his future.

Gibbs-White, who joined Forest from Wolves in August 2022, was named the club’s Player of the Season in 2022/23, registering five goals and eight assists in his debut campaign at the City Ground.

He registered 17 goal contributions in 34 league appearances last term, helping Forest finish seventh – their highest league placement since 2002/03, when they ended up sixth.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Gibbs-White has 18 goals and 29 assists in 121 appearances for Forest.

Tottenham have spent around £180m on new signings this summer, with Randal Kolo Muani the latest to join on transfer deadline day on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.

The North London side have also struck deals for attackers Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons, while both Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel joined permanently following loan spells.

Spurs sit fourth in the Premier League table following two wins and a 1-0 home loss last weekend to Bournemouth.
