Tottenham Hotspur have been revealed as William Hill’s worst result in the Premier League relegation betting, having been backed at odds of up to 200/1 to go down.
Now priced at just 5/2 for the drop, Spurs are the shortest price they’ve been to go down in almost 50 years, since being relegated from the First Division in 1977.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Spurs’ dire situation only seems to be getting worse and, ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace this evening, we can reveal that they are now our worst result in our relegation book.
“Punters are latching on to them to go down and have been for a while now, with some bets laid at odds as big as 200/1 earlier in the season, making them a serious liability for us.
“They’re now just 5/2 to face the drop, the shortest price they’ve been since being relegated from the First Division back in 1977.
“On the other hand, things are looking much brighter for their arch-rivals West Ham, who are odds against for relegation for the first time since early December following their victory over Fulham.”
