Real Madrid are eyeing a move to sign Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League thanks to a win over Everton on the final day of the season, and now manager Roberto De Zerbi is pushing to rebuild his squad and strengthen ahead of the next campaign.

But with the club facing a year without European football, several of their top stars are being targeted by clubs across the continent, and it has now emerged that even Spanish giants Madrid are taking a look at their squad.

Real Madrid Want Pedro Porro

According to the reliable Romano, Real Madrid have added Tottenham full-back Porro to their shortlist of options for the summer window.

Madrid are looking to strengthen at right-back after deciding against offering Dani Carvajal a new contract, meaning the Spaniard will depart this summer. Now they are looking for someone to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold to be first-choice under new, incoming manager Jose Mourinho.

Porro, who has been described as 'world-class', is understood to be under consideration for the role, alongside Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries and Sporting CP full-back Ivan Fresneda.

Tottenham do not want to lose Porro, who has emerged as a key player in recent seasons, and started all seven games under Roberto De Zerbi, scoring a vital goal during the 2-2 draw with Brighton. It's understood that despite interest from Madrid and Man City, Spurs will 'do everything' to keep the Spain star in north London, with the manager and board viewing him as a key player.

Spurs Cannot Lose Porro

Tottenham know that they have a huge summer on the cards, and have already completed deals to strengthen their defence with the arrivals of Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi agreed.

But there is an expectation that captain Cristian Romero will be on the move, while there is also strong interest in centre-back Micky Van de Ven and Destiny Udogie. That would make losing Porro a major blow, because he is a leader within the squad, and also one of their better players.

De Zerbi knows what he needs, and Porro's skill set is very difficult to replace. It tells you a lot when Real Madrid are interested in a player, and Spurs must do all they can to keep him for as long as possible.
