Rodrygo plans to stay at Real

Brazilian winger Rodrygo, who has been the subject of rumours regarding his Real Madrid future this summer, has decided to stay at the club and fight for his place.

The 24-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at the Bernabeu in recent months, has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with transfers to Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur mooted.

However, AS reports that the player has decided to stay in the Spanish capital in an attempt to win over manager Xabi Alonso.

The piece says: "Rodrygo will return to Valdebebas today, almost two months after his last appearance, and his intention is to continue doing so through the 2025/26 season.

"In other words, to stay at Real Madrid.

"Rodrygo is committed to reversing his current situation, to win over Xabi and regain his former strength in the team."

Jacquet eyed by Arsenal

Arsenal have made initial contact with Rennes over the possible signing of defender Jeremy Jacquet.

The highly rated 20-year-old is reportedly on The Gunners’ radar with a view to either a move this summer or possibly in the future.

Arsenal may have to be patient, however, with FootMercarto reporting over the weekend that the player, whose contract runs until 2029, has rejected the approach, opting to remain at Rennes for now.

Atalanta say Lookman only allowed to move abroad

Atalanta have said that they will only sanction a move for Ademola Lookman away from Serie A.

The Nigerian striker has demanded to leave the club over what he calls ‘"broken promises" amid a reported rejected approach from Internazionale.

However, speaking to the press, Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi, per Gianluca Di Marzio, sought to explain the situation, saying all parties previously agreed that any departure from the club would be outside of Italy.

"Last year, faced with a €20 million offer from PSG, the player asked to be sold," said Percassi.

"Atalanta, being a credible club, promised they would sell the player this transfer window.

"The offer had to come from a top European club, and he wouldn’t wear the shirt of a club other than Atalanta in Italy.

"Today the situation you know is very different. In any case the club is always careful to evaluate the times and the qualities of its players, but as always it is the club that decides."

Chelsea and Dortmund in talks over Chukwuemeka

Carney Chukwuemeka could be set to move to Borussia Dortmund on a permanent deal from Chelsea as the two clubs remain in talks over the player’s future.

The Blues midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan with the Bundesliga club, with Dortmund keen to make the player their own.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says the player is keen on the move and that negotiations between all parties are ongoing.
