Edin Terzic rejected the chance to manage Monaco back in October as he wanted to hold out for a job in the Premier League.

According to The Telegraph, Terzic had the opportunity to join the French giants a few months ago, but opted to wait for an English club to come in.

Tottenham have now added the former Borussia Dortmund boss to their shortlist, with their search for Thomas Frank’s replacement now well underway.

As well as Terzic, Spurs are considering the likes of Marco Rose, Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane in their pursuit of a new manager.

Edin Terzic eager for Premier League opportunity

Terzic has been out of work since the summer of 2024, when he left Borussia Dortmund following their 2-0 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

The Croatian performed admirably during his two-and-a-half years at Dortmund, just missing out on the Bundesliga title in 2022-23, and coming within a game of Champions League glory.

He also had an interim spell at the German club before joining permanently, guiding them to the DFB-Pokal in 2021.

Terzic is now interested in the Tottenham job, after turning down several other sides around Europe since his departure from Dortmund.

However, Spurs will have to move quickly if they want to secure the 43-year-old, as he is also being tracked by La Liga sides ahead of the summer.

Edin Terzic already has Premier League experience

Terzic was assistant coach under fellow countryman Slaven Bilic at West Ham United between 2015 and 2017.

When Bilic was sacked by the Hammers, Terzic also departed, and he hasn’t had a role in the Premier League since.

Currently, it is believed that the former West Ham assistant has been shortlisted by Spurs for an interim manager role.

Pochettino will likely become available in the summer, following the 2026 World Cup with the USA, so Tottenham are considering an appointment until the end of the season, before then bringing in their former boss.

If that is the case, then Terzic may only be afforded a short spell in North London before he is then replaced by Pochettino.
