Mathys Tel has been treated rather unfairly this season by Tottenham Hotspur, but the Frenchman showed an impressive attitude against Fulham.

Tottenham Hotspur slumped to yet another defeat in the Premier League as they were beaten 2-1 away by Fulham.

👀 TRUE or FALSE: Mathys Tel MUST now start for Tottenham vs Crystal Palace…

How did you rate Tel’s cameo vs Fulham?

The damage was done in the first half as Alex Iwobi and Harry Wilson’s goals ensured the Cottagers were out of sight, despite a spirited effort from Spurs in the second 45 minutes.

Tel and Richarlison were among the players who could leave Craven Cottage with at least some credit, and Igor Tudor must consider starting them both more often.

Mathys Tel impresses off the bench against Fulham

Mathys Tel showed real fight for Tottenham off the bench against Fulham and looked like a player who wanted to make an impact.

The 20-year-old has been treated rather unfairly by Spurs this season, from his limited minutes to being re-included and then excluded again from the club’s Champions League squad.

The winger has made just four starts in the Premier League since the start of the year and once again proved why he deserves much more game time.

This Spurs team looked devoid of any fight, and whilst Tel might not be producing game-changing performances, his attitude has at least been exemplary.

The French youth international, along with Richarlison, looks like just one of a very small number of Spurs stars who look up for this relegation battle.

In just 32 minutes, Tel did enough to prove to Tudor why he must start on Thursday against Crystal Palace, with some promising moments.

😡 Who was Tottenham’s worst player vs Fulham?

The winger managed 23 touches, which was more than Randal Kolo Muani, who started at Craven Cottage.

The Frenchman also completed two successful dribbles, won four of his six duels and managed three ball recoveries against the West London outfit.

Tel was key in the goal, as he drove into the penalty area and laid the ball off for Archie Gray, whose cross found Richarlison for the goal.

Palace is now a must-win game for the Lilywhites, and Tel has just secured his starting spot in the line-up against the South London club.
