Roberto De Zerbi has now provided a Tottenham Hotspur injury update ahead of their Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The battle for Premier League survival could take a major turn this weekend as Tottenham Hotspur and their relegation rivals face sides gunning for European places.

Spurs travel to face Aston Villa at Villa Park, Nottingham Forest take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, while West Ham United clash with Brentford at the Gtech Stadium.

A victory for Tottenham could well see them leapfrog West Ham United and move into 17th, that is, of course, if the Hammers fail to secure all three points themselves.

While wins for West Ham and Forest, coupled with a Spurs defeat, could see their relegation rivals pull further clear of the bottom three with three games to spare.

Nonetheless, Spurs do have a strong record against Aston Villa at Villa Park, which bodes well for their chances of securing victory as they hope results elsewhere go their way.

Roberto De Zerbi, however, will have to secure victory without several of his key players, with injuries in north London only compounding.

MORE SPURS STORIES

An injury list that was once down to five players has since doubled in a week, with 11 players now set to miss the trip to Villa Park.

Xavi Simons, who did his ACL in the game against Wolves, is now set to miss the rest of the season as well as the World Cup, with a return pencilled in for 2027.

Dominic Solanke also looked to have picked up a muscular injury in the same game, one that saw the forward substituted off before half-time.

The pair now join Mohammed Kudus, Wilson Odobert, Pape Matar Sarr, Ben Davies and Cristian Romero as players sidelined and unavailable.

Spurs fans will have been hoping to welcome back both Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario this weekend as they travel to face Aston Villa.

De Zerbi has now provided an injury update on his Tottenham squad, speaking to the club’s official channels. He revealed that Vicario is still not fit enough to return to the squad, while Solanke misses out on Sunday with a hamstring problem, although it is unknown how long this will keep him out.

In better news, Destiny Udogie could make his return to the team against Villa, while De Zerbi insists that Maddison ‘can be important’ still during the run-in.
