Tottenham Hotspur secured Premier League safety on Sunday night following a 1-0 victory over Everton.

It was Spurs’ third league win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2025-26 having lost 10 times at home and drawn the other six games.

Fortunately, it proved enough in the end to keep the North London club up despite West Ham United also winning their final game of the season.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi is now preparing for a squad overhaul and has claimed that Spurs only have around 12 players good enough to stay beyond this summer.

They currently have 28 players on their books and the Italian believes that at least 16 of them should leave.

“From tonight we have to start to organise and to build a new team,” De Zerbi said after the game.

“We have not to change too many players. We have 10, 11, 12 players good enough to stay, good enough as players and especially as people.

“Then we have to complete the squad with first-level players. First-level because we suffer too much. The fans, the club, the board, the players, they suffer too much.

“We are Tottenham and we can’t suffer like this until the last second of the last game to stay up. And I will be stronger. I don’t want to decide alone because football is a group, the sporting director, scouting, CEO, but my target is finished, to stay up. My target now is to start pre-season with the team in my dream, in my head.”

While safety should see Spurs retain some key players, there are some who will look to leave the club this summer and here is a look at the 12 who could remain after the transfer window and the 16 likely to leave.
