Former Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason will remain at Tottenham after recent talks with Anderlecht over their managerial position. Spurs granted first-team coach Mason permission to speak with the Belgian Pro League club this week about potentially replacing Brian Riemer, who was dismissed on September 19.
However, Anderlecht announced they had decided to permanently hire interim boss David Hubert and Mason will therefore stay part of Ange Postecoglou's coaching staff at Tottenham.
The PA news agency report that after initial discussions between Mason and Anderlecht officials, both parties mutually decided it was not the right time for either of them to press forward with further talks over the managerial vacancy.
Once-capped England international Mason holds huge respect for Anderlecht following their approach earlier this month, but the 33-year-old has thoroughly enjoyed being part of Postecoglou's project at Tottenham over the past 16 months.
