Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Brazilian attacker Savinho from Manchester City during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old is ready to join the north London club in search of regular playing time, and it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can negotiate an agreement.
Savinho wants Spurs move
“Savinho wants to make that move to Tottenham,” Mick Brown told Football Insider.
“He’s in and out of the team at City, but if he goes to Spurs, Thomas Frank will offer him more regular football and an improved standing in the squad.
“That’s what he wants to do, play more regular football than he’s currently getting.
“It’s something Man City have to live with and they’ve always managed to do well. Savinho has been frustrated with not playing as regularly as he would like, and wants to go and make his mark somewhere else.”
Spurs need attacking depth
Spurs need more quality and depth in the attacking unit. The 21-year-old will add goals, pace and unpredictability to the side from the wide areas. He is versatile enough to operate on both flanks, and he will help Tottenham improve going forward.
The opportunity to join a Champions League-level club and play regularly will be hard for the player to turn down. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise an agreement now.
Savinho is a tremendous young talent. He has all the tools to develop into a future star, and Tottenham could groom him into an important player. If they can sign in for a reasonable amount of money, the deal could look like a masterstroke in the long run.
The fact that the player wants to move this summer will be a boost for Tottenham, and they will hope to negotiate a reasonable deal with Manchester City.
The player is only 21, and sitting on the bench at Manchester City will not benefit him. With the World Cup approaching, he will want to be part of the Brazilian national team. Regular football at Tottenham would be ideal for his development.
