OK OK so I know I got dragged a bit on this latest World Cup sponsored poll because I didn’t include Djed Spence as a polling option, but in my defense, 1) I had to choose only 5 players due to the limitations of the poll, 2) Djed and England had just kicked off vs. Ghana when I posted that poll and Djed was... fine in England’s first match, and 3) There was an Other field!

Anyway, I’ve got the results right here and I think many of you might be surprised of the results. Remember, this is a poll of Carty Free readers! Like you! Right now! You’re reading Carty Free! (Thanks!)

Napoleon Dynamite asked you all to Vote for Pedro and many of you did! I figured the numbers would be more evenly distributed without a runaway winner, but Pedro getting 34% in a competitive field is still pretty darn good. You know who else has been pretty darned good this World Cup? Pedro Porro. See what I did there?

Micky van de Ven is also having a nice World Cup, as evident by his second place finish at 23%. And I’m just going to assume that all 19% of you who voted “Other” voted for Djed, especially after he snubbed Thomas Partey in the pre-match handshake line and continually put Jordan Ayew in the Spence Pentitentiary. Andy Robertson getting more votes than Cristian Romero is a little wild to me, though.

Considering that there aren’t THAT many Spurs players in North America right now and who those players are, this is a pretty fun and illuminating result!

Whaddya think, gang -- do you agree with your fellow voters? Who are the secret majority Pedro Porro lovers? Out yourselves in the comments.
