Tottenham Hotspur host Copenhagen at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on matchday four of the UEFA Champions League as they look to remain unbeaten in the competition, and pick up their second win in the process, at 20:00 UK time tonight.
After losing to Chelsea in the Premier League at the weekend, Thomas Frank was critical of his team’s creativity, and the players will need to step up against Copenhagen in the European Cup if they are to push for a top 8 finish in the standings.
Having said that, here is a look at their possible starting eleven for the fixture.
Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario is set to retain his place in goal for Tottenham Hotspur having kept two clean sheets in three Champions League fixtures this season.
Defenders – Pedro Porro might continue at right back once more, whereas Djed Spence could also be picked to play on the left side of the back four. Cristian Romero came off the bench against Chelsea but is unlikely to be risked from the start in what should be a relatively easy game for Spurs, so Kevin Danso and Micky van de Ven might also stick together at centre back.
Simons on the left flank, Richarlison at number 9
Midfielders – Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha have built a solid chemistry together in the double pivot for Tottenham Hotspur, so they both might start once more, whereas Pape Mata Sarr could also be picked to play at number 10.
Mohammed Kudus is the favourite to feature on the right flank, on the other hand, whereas £51 million summer signing Xavi Simons is expected to come back into the team on the left side at Lucas Bergvall’s expense.
Forward – With Randal Kolo Muani also misfiring as the striker, Thomas Frank could welcome Richarlison back into the line-up.
Here is how the Londoners might look on paper tonight.
