The signing of Marmoush is set to take Tottenham's spending to around 400 million in the summer, completing a double deal from Man City worth in the region of £145 million.
The signings of Savio and Marmoush look set to completely transform Tottenham's attack for Roberto De Zerbi. Whether they will be frustrated into action this weekend remains to be seen, but there is no doubt there will be beneficial signings throughout the campaign.
Guardiola labels Marmoush 'special'
Speaking on the Egyptian international following his move from Eintracht Frankfurt, Pep Guardiola labelled Marmoush a special player.
“He’s a special player, not old ,not young but he has margin to improve. His dynamic energy and runs are really good. I see him more as a striker not a proper winger. He’s a guy for transition actions."
Interestingly, Guardiola suggested that he is more of a central striker than a winger, but he played in a host of different positions during his time at Manchester City.
Marmoush found it difficult to displace Erling Haaland from the starting eleven, which is understandable considering how clinical the Norwegian striker is.
Spurs could certainly do with adding another centre-forward to their ranks. It would make sense for a striker to deploy him this season.
