The 28-year-old has recently returned to running on the grass as part of her rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury she suffered in October, 2025.
The Spain international has continued her hard work during our time in her homeland and we caught up with midfielder to see what she gets up to throughout a day on camp…
Wake up & breakfast – 8am-10am
“I woke up around 8am today as the breakfast report time was slightly later than usual, so that gave me the chance to stay in bed a little longer. Once I got up, I went to have breakfast at the report time of 9.15am but I always try to arrive a little earlier to get everything ready.
“Once I arrive, first I have two slices of bread with avocado and eggs, then some yoghurt with kiwi and mango and I always make sure to have a coffee without milk after that.”
Downtime – 10am-1pm
“Once I had finished with my breakfast, said good morning to all my team-mates and staff, I then headed back to my bedroom to chill more as we had a double session the day before and I was so tired, so I really tried to make use of the time off.
“So, I had a call with my family and watched some Netflix. I’m currently watching the new season of ‘My Life with the Walters’ as I really enjoyed the first two seasons and the third season has just come out this week, which I’m really enjoying so far."
Lunch – 1pm-2pm
“Ahead of our afternoon gym work and training session, we had lunch to make sure we were ready. I usually try to fill my plate with plenty of carbohydrates and then end the lunch with some fruit and yoghurt. It usually depends on how much I have to do in the session for the day so if I’m doing more running on the grass, I would have more carbs. Sophie and Olivia (the nutritionists) also send us what we should eat dependent on the training of the day. I then headed back to my room to get ready before the team meeting where we addressed the session for the day.”
Afternoon session – 2pm-5pm
“We all headed to the gym and I stayed there for the majority of the afternoon while the rest of the squad went out on pitch, so it was a slightly easier day for me compared to previous ones when I have been on the grass. The gym work is very important, especially after my injury, to regain that strength in my muscles and the staff usually prepare protein shakes.”
“I had to complete a HIIT circuit, which was still very tough, and once I had finished everything I needed to in the gym, I went back to my room to cool down and recover before our team-bonding event in the evening.”
Evening team-bonding event – 7pm-9pm
“For majority of the days we have been in Spain, we had dinner in one of the dining rooms in the hotel and they have been fantastic with a range of different cuisines. However, for this evening, we headed to a restaurant with the whole squad and staff group.
“We were separated into different tables, between staff and players, and I was with Siggy [Gaupset], Oli [Holdt], Ella [Morris], Heidi [Hills] and Toko [Koga]. It was really good and we had a great time, the food was a mixture of Italian and Mexican, and then we had the mariachi band provide some entertainment with songs in Spanish, which was really fun and I enjoyed it.
“I think the whole night was really important to build connections between all players and staff, spending time to get to know each other and have good conversations. After that was done, I headed back to my room to relax for the final hour and go to bed to get ready for another day of training.”
