A supercomputer has now crunched the numbers to predict exactly where Tottenham will finish this Premier League season following their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham Hotspur failed to rise to the occasion against Nottingham Forest in their relegation six-pointer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs started the game as the better of the two sides, showing great intensity and purpose in their attack for most of the first half, but a late first-half corner saw Forest go in front at the break.

Tottenham seemed to lose their way after going a goal down and never looked like the dominant side again. The match eventually ended 3-0, compounding Spurs’ relegation misery.

Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s Premier League finish

We are heading into the international break now, and Opta’s Supercomputer has crunched the numbers to give its verdict on whether Spurs will avoid relegation after their latest defeat.

According to the supercomputer’s predicted table, Tottenham are expected to just about beat the drop this campaign. The Lilywhites are forecast to maintain their current league standing of 17th place for the rest of the season, with West Ham United expected to be the ones going down.

Opta believe that Leeds will finish on 42 points, Forest 41 points, Tottenham 39 points, and West Ham 37 points.

Opta are more optimistic about Spurs form than most fans

While the numbers might be in Spurs’ favour, the players must back it up with their on-field displays.

At the moment, Tottenham are the most out-of-form side among those fighting to stay up. While Forest and West Ham have managed victories in their last five, Spurs remain winless.
