Opta’s Supercomputer has revised its prediction on where Tottenham will finish in the league phase of the Champions League following their 5-3 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
Tottenham’s loss against PSG was their first defeat of the Champions League campaign, and leaves the Lilywhites with eight points after five matches.
They sit in 16th place in the table, with Spurs needing to finish in the top 24 to qualify for the knockout stages.
They are still very much in touching distance of the top eight, who will get direct passage through to the round of 16, with Sporting Lisbon in eighth place having just two points more than Thomas Frank’s side.
Opta’s Supercomputer expects Tottenham to progress to the knockout phase
Opta have now predicted based on various metrics that the Lilywhites will finish the league phase in 15th place, accumulating an expected 12.83 points.
That will mean that the North London side will have to play an additional knockout round to make it into the final 16.
The data analysis platform has given Spurs an 83.18 per cent chance of finishing in the top 24 and qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition.

One more win may be enough for Spurs to qualify for next round
However, they may also need to win one of their two other remaining games against Borussia Dortmund at home or Eintracht Frankfurt away if they want to secure direct passage to the round of 16.
