Thomas Frank has finally provided an update on the rehabilitation of a senior Tottenham man after maintaining secrecy over the matter in the last few press conferences.
The curious case of Dominic Solanke’s injury has flummoxed Spurs fans and has even led to conspiracy theories on social media.
The striker was initially expected to return to full fitness a couple of weeks into the new season and even made two substitute appearances at the start of the term.
However, Tottenham eventually made the decision to operate on Solanke’s ankle at the end of September, but the 28-year-old’s return date continues to be pushed back.
Thomas Frank previously hinted that Solanke could be back after the November international break, but there has been no sign of the former Bournemouth man in training yet.

When asked about the confusion regarding Solanke’s injury and the continuous delay on his return, the Tottenham boss explained (via Football.London): “Sometimes it’s not so easy and straightforward, maybe it’s a minor setback, maybe it’s been a little bit slower.
“It’s more positive now, and I’m looking forward to him on the training pitch and involved in the squad. I would love to have Dom out there. To have a quality player like him in the squad, that would just help even more for competition, rotation, everything in the team. The good thing is I’m in no doubt he’ll be out there.”
Solanke’s return would be a huge boost for Frank and Spurs
We know that the new Tottenham boss is a big fan of the England international.
In fact, in his first interview as Spurs head coach, Frank named Solanke as one of the players he is looking forward to working with the most, backing the centre-forward to score a lot of goals this season.
The 28-year-old is a good fit for Frank’s system as he is an elite presser off the ball and sniffs opportunities in and around the six-yard box. His return will almost feel like a new signing for Tottenham.
